The foundation of Rajasthan Mahila Vidyalaya was laid in 1916. The institution began its journey with one student and a teacher, with mission being women education and empowerment when this was a distant reality.
Rajasthan Mahila Teachers Training College, a unit of RMV was established on 2nd September 1985 in the Mewar region of Rajasthan, the tribal area of the state. It is unique in being only teachers training PG women college in the entire region and has been established to provide quality teacher education to the prospective female teachers.
The college always tries to bring excellence and has very carefully developed its vision and mission. Situated in the lap of nature surrounded by tall lush Aravali hills the campus is situated in the heart of city with hostel facility equipped with all basic amenities. It has easy accessibility for students and staff members. The college offers two year B.Ed. and two year M.Ed. courses with intake capacity of 180 students and 50 students respectively.

It is equipped with well- ventilated Classrooms, Laboratories, Multipurpose Hall, Common Room, Library, Store Room, Sports Room, Staff Room, Principal Room, Administrative Office.
The campus offers sense of comfort, adequacy and modernity. It is also quite hospitable for teaching learning environment.
Psychology Lab
The laboratory is enriched to meet out the requirement of the students at B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. level. It has approximately 90-95 psychological tests.
Science Lab
It is well equipped with apparatus that are helpful in conducting school experiments for secondary classes.
Education Technology Lab
The institution has a number of Audio Visual equipments and ICT equipments such as – OHP, slide projector, TV,VCD,LCD, Digital camera etc.
Computer Lab
It has 30 computer systems with internet facility which also promotes learning in the field of education and research.
Home Science Lab
It is fully equipped to cater the needs of B.Ed. students. The laboratory facilitates practicals prescribed by RBSC for senior secondary students.
A computerized library with an open access system is provided with qualified librarian. Total 11731 books are available. The institution also provides the Book Bank facility. It has a computer and internet facility also. The seating capacity is adequate for the number of users using the library at a time.
All the important and group activities are conducted in the multipurpose hall which is equipped with public address system and has the seating capacity of around 250 students.
Equipments related to Indoor and Outdoor games are available along with the facility to play Indoor games such as Carom, Table Tennis, Chess etc. Ample space is there in the room to practice yoga.
Workshops are organized for students in order to develop art and craft materials along with teaching learning materials. All the record related to curricular and co-curricular activities is also kept there depicting the activities of college at a glance.
To enrich the academic atmosphere, seminars, discussions, extension activities and Faculty Developments Programmes are organized in seminar room.
The institution provides the facility to the students to sit, read, take rest, have lunch in the common room during their leisure time.
The institution has some of the musical instruments as Tabla, Harmonium, Synthesizer, Dholak, Electric Tabla and sitar for organizing musical and cultural activities.
A new dimension in the field of education was added in the year 1985, as Rajasthan Mahila Teachers Training College. The Institution offers two year B.Ed. Programme with the intake capacity of 180 students. It has permanent affiliation with Mohanlal Sukhadia University.
Admission Procedure
The admission to B.Ed. course is made through a common entrance test conducted by one of the universities of Rajasthan designated by the Government of Rajasthan. The entrance test for B.Ed. course is known as Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET). The eligibility conditions for admission are as per NCTE norms.
Subjects Offered
The Pedagogy subjects offered at B.Ed level are Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Science, Home Science, Art Education, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Music, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Social Science, and Commerce. During the two years B.Ed. programme the students are specialized in the subjects like Drama and Art in Education, Critical understanding of ICT, Health and Physical Education.
The Institution established another milestone in the field of Teacher Education by starting M.Ed. Programme with an intake capacity of 25 students. At present the institution is offering two years M.Ed. Programme with the intake capacity of 50 students. The students are taking training to become Lecturers in Education, Educational Administrators and Research Workers.
Admission Procedure
The admission to M.Ed. course is made through common entrance test conducted by one of the universities of Rajasthan designated by the Government of Rajasthan. The entrance test for M.Ed. course is known as Pre Master of Education Test (PMET). The selection is done on the basis of merit.
Subjects Offered
Besides the core papers the specialization subject offered by the institution is Secondary Education and Elective Papers are -ET and ICT in Education and Educational Management respectively.
In order to enrich the academic atmosphere, the institution organizes seminar, workshops, discussions and Extension Activities throughout the year.
The Orientation Programmes and workshops are conducted related to the practical aspects of both the courses (B.Ed. and M.Ed.) Open Air session is conducted in which various community service based activities are organized such as-Rally, Survey Nukkad Natak etc. The organization of such activities inculcate Democratic Values, Moral Values, Leadership Quality in students.
Various Literary and Cultural activities are organized for the overall development of the students. Literary activities such as Poetry Recitation, Essay Writing, Quiz Competition, Debate Competition, Extempore are the prominent one. Cultural activities include Celebration of Festivals, Dance Competition, Song Competition, Rangoli Competition etc.
Everyday Assembly is conducted which includes activities as prayer, thought of the day, News, Moral/ Value Talk, G.K. Questions and National Anthem.
Every year games activities are held at intra collegiate level (House-wise) according to the academic calendar. The institution has proper games and sports facilities.
The institution is making continuous efforts to develop an excellent research centre. All faculty members guide research at M.Ed. level. Some of them are approved by MLSU as supervisor for guiding Ph.D. Faculty members also undertake small research projects. They are encouraged to participate and present their papers in national/ international seminars.
To achieve its goals, the institution has included many activities in the curriculum such as-Extension lectures, Faculty Development Programme, Collaboration with NGOs (Aadhar Foundation, Prayas Sansthan), Adoption of Village, Community service and National Seminars.
The institution has a well developed tutorial system. The students are divided into small groups under the supervision of their tutors to receive personal attention and thus receive necessary guidance for their queries from their tutors.
Jigyasa, the College Magazine provides a platform to the students and staff to express themselves.
Newsletter is published yearly which highlights all the major activities of the college.
It is the representative structure of students through which they are involved in the affairs of the college. The student council helps sharing students’ ideas, interests and concerns with teacher educators and Principal.
The institution has its alumini association which meets twice in a year. The members of alumini association participate in cultural activities and also work for the growth and development of the institution.
Almost all the faculty members possess doctorate degree some of the faculty members are NET qualified. They have a vast teaching experience and are engaged in various consultancy services. All the faculty members are guiding research at M.Ed. level and some are approved by Mohanlal Sukhadia University as supervisor to guide Ph.D.
Rajasthan Mahila Teachers Training College has been established with a view to provide quality teacher education to the prospective female teachers. The institution always tries to keep in mind excellence as an important value in all fields of activities.
